Who we are:

Red Orchid Productions is led by a husband and wife team, Tory and Annie Hooton. We started out in video production as a hobby we could do together, but we quickly fell in love with the artistic expression we found. Over the past several years this “hobby” has moved from mild interest to near obsession:)

Tory CEO // CREATIVE DIRECTOR has been involved in the arts for a long time in many different ways. From playing bass in several bands, to being heavily involved in live theater, he is always dreaming about doing art that impacts society. Tory has an AA in “Theater Arts and Communication” and a BA in English and Philosophy.

Annie HEAD STORYTELLER has also pursued the arts through music and theater. She studied interior design and music in college before settling on a family studies major with a minor in philosophy. She is now a full time mommy and loves being able to work at home and have a creative outlet through Red Orchid.

Why we love what we do:

Video Production brings together all of our artistic passions and provides a playground to express them all together. One of our greatest joys is crafting raw materials into something that moves an audience, whether it is in an ad that truly communicates, or a wedding film that makes you feel in love. Developing our skill with video has brought us closer to people and makes us feel more alive! Whats not to love about that?

small is the new BIG

We have decided to stay small and focus on giving a few clients all of our passion and effort. This simple choice has some very big implications.

We grow with the needs of the project:

A network of other creative studios allows us to expand our reach to meet requirements of a job but then happily settle back into a lean team. This means that our decisions and recommendations can be more about the creative good and less about keeping the lights on:)

Just enough to do it right… no more, no less!

Gear is great, but sometimes speed and flexibility mean the difference between getting the shot or handling a problem and getting stuck and going over budget. There is always a trade off and we strive to always provide maximum impact for the budget.

Focus on what is important:

Story is king! you can’t fix a bad story or an empty message by throwing money at it or drowning it out with flashy effects and animation. The simple solution is often the best so we strive to build up complexity (and cost) only on the foundation of a solid story. Then the money is an investment in the story and not a grasp at attention.

A space that fits:
